What is in the set

What the Mini does — and what it does not

The Mini has one job, and it does it well: absorption. It is the same idea as the Booster mode on the full-size device — helping the actives in your essence or serum travel further into the skin rather than sitting on the surface — with red and blue LED alongside. At 75g it is genuinely light, easy to hold for ten minutes, and easy to keep on the shelf rather than in a drawer. If you have never used a device before, this is the sensible place to begin.

Being straight with you about what it is not: the Mini has no pore mode and no EMS. The lifting, contouring and pore-refining modes — Air Shot, MC and Derma Shot — are on the full-size AGE-R Booster Pro. If firmness and jawline definition are what you are after rather than glow and absorption, the full-size set is the one to look at.

How to use it

1. Cleanse and apply a generous layer of the PDRN Booster Gel, or a watery essence. The Mini is always used over product, never on bare skin.
2. Work slowly over the face for five to ten minutes, moving upwards and outwards.
3. Follow with the rest of your routine. Up to three sessions a day is fine.
4. Wipe the head clean and dry after every use.

Why the gel is in this set

The device needs a wet, conductive layer between its head and your skin. Without one it drags, the current cannot spread evenly, and the session is uncomfortable and far less effective — it is the single most common mistake people make with an at-home device.

Medicube does not require one specific gel, and a watery essence will conduct perfectly well. What the PDRN Booster Gel gives you is enough of it. At 300ml you can be generous, and generous is exactly what a device session needs — trying to run a device on the last few drops of a 30ml serum is how a device ends up used once a month and then left in a drawer.

It is also a proper gel moisturiser in its own right: ceramides, collagen and multi-weight hyaluronic acid with PDRN (Sodium DNA), light and non-greasy, comfortable on oily and combination skin. On the days you do not use the device, it is simply your moisturiser.

What Medicube's own testing showed

Tested by Medicube: a 562% improvement in skin absorption rate, and after a single use, radiance +30.97% and texture +7.74%. These are the brand's own test figures rather than independent clinical trials, and Medicube notes that results may vary depending on individual skin type.

Two things worth knowing before you order

The Mini does not come with a charging cable in the box — any standard cable of the right fitting will do, but do not expect to find one inside. And Medicube claims no water resistance for it, so keep it away from the shower and never rinse it under the tap; wipe the head instead.

Good to know before you start

This one works with a gentle electrical current, so it is not for everyone. Please skip it if you have a pacemaker or another implanted electronic device, a heart condition, a seizure disorder or active cancer, or if you are pregnant. Over-18s only. Keep it off broken skin and inflamed spots, take your jewellery off first, and keep the head moving rather than resting it in one place.
