The Calming Shelf

An IrelKGlow Edit. Not a filter — a shortlist. Twenty products chosen by hand from everything we stock, for skin that has gone tight, hot, flaky or suddenly reactive, and for anyone who uses actives and would rather not get there in the first place.

Every routine should have at least one calming product in it — not for emergencies, but permanently, the way you own a plain moisturiser. If you use acids or a retinoid, one is the minimum. They are the cheapest insurance in skincare, and they are the products people only buy after they have already ruined something.

Ordered the way a routine goes on: toner and pads, then essence and mist, then serum, then mask, then the cream that holds it all in. You do not need all of it. Pick the step you actually skip.

The full method — how to tell irritation from purging, how to run a two-week reset, and how to get back on your actives afterwards — is in Why Your Actives Suddenly Sting.
