1. Step 2 – Cleanser: Apply to damp skin, massage gently and rinse thoroughly.
2. Step 4 – Toner: Apply evenly over the face, avoiding the eye area.
3. Step 6 – Serum: Apply a small amount to the full face or targeted areas and gently pat to absorb.
4. Step 9 – Cream: Apply as the final moisturising step to seal in hydration.
5. Use sunscreen during the daytime when using exfoliating acids.
6. If new to acids, begin 3–4 times per week and increase gradually as tolerated.

Pairs well with: Hydrating and soothing products — toners, essences, and serums focused on humectants, panthenol, centella, snail, or green tea help maintain comfort while using exfoliating acids and azelaic acid. Light barrier-support products — simple moisturisers or ceramide-based creams can be layered after the routine if additional hydration is needed. Oil cleansers — suitable as a first cleanse before the Heartleaf & BHA Cleanser when removing makeup or sunscreen.
Avoid using: Strong exfoliating acids (high-strength AHA/BHA peels) in the same routine, as this may increase sensitivity. Retinoids in the same routine — better alternated to reduce risk of over-exfoliation and irritation. Very aggressive treatment routines layered all at once.
Layering tip: Use this kit as the primary active routine and keep the rest of the routine calming and supportive rather than stacking multiple strong actives together.
Pro Tip: Although formulated for acne-prone and sensitive skin, this kit contains multiple exfoliating acids and azelaic acid. If new to actives or if skin is dry/sensitive, introduce gradually (2–3 times per week) and increase frequency as tolerated to maintain barrier balance.
